Historic Seaside Port of Fremantle

Rottnest Island 

Feel a world away on Rottnest Island, even though it’s only 19 kilometres from Perth. Access this car-free island by ferry, helicopter or private boat. Relax on one of more than 60 beaches, snorkel coral reefs, dive shipwrecks and explore history. Best of all, get close to cute little marsupial the cute quokka, found only in Western Australia.

Swan Valley 

Drive 25 minutes north-east of the City Centre to the Swan Valley where you’ll find 40 vineyards and many cellar doors offering tastings in Western Australia’s oldest wine region. You can cycle through the vineyards or take a cruise upriver, sipping local wines and enjoying the scenery with visits to cellar doors.

 

Lake Hillier

Lake Hillier is a pink-coloured lake on Middle Island, the largest of the islands that make up the Recherche Archipelago off the coast of Esperance. From above the lake appears a solid bubble gum pink. The lake is about 600 meters long, and is surrounded by a rim of sand and dense woodland of paperbark and eucalyptus trees.

Nambung National Park

It’s a true desert landscape in Nambung National Park, where the weathered rock spires of the Pinnacles rise out of yellow sand dunes. After experiencing the eerie Pinnacles, stay in the fishing village of Cervantes, with its white beaches, coral reefs and Lake Thetis, a salt lake teeming with living fossils.

 

Cottesloe Beach

Cottesloe Beach is one of the most popular of all Western Australia’s city beaches. Cottesloe is renowned for its relaxed lifestyle and has been a popular seaside holiday destination for Perth locals for more than 100 years. Its village atmosphere and rich maritime heritage is sure to entice you to explore beyond its golden sands. Cable Beach

Steer your camel along the pristine Cable Beach as a blazing sunset unfolds before your eyes. As the sun sinks into the ocean, the sky lights up in powerful red and orange, matching the ochres of the region. This early evening experience will stay with you long after the sun has gone down.

Broome’s Chinatown

Browse the world’s finest pearl showrooms and take home a classic souvenir to wear forever. Tour restored luggers in dry dock, learn about pearling history, watch a demonstration of old diving gear and even sample pearl meat. A fascinating mix of Colonial and Asian architecture, Chinatown is Broome’s main shopping district.

Gantheaume Pointz

See the colours of the Kimberley on this stretch of white sandy beach just a 10-minute drive from Broome. Set against a red rock cliff overlooking the azure waters of the Indian Ocean, the Point has interpretive signs that describe its history, including dinosaur footprints preserved in reef rock that can be seen at low tide.

Ningaloo Reef

Go swimming with whalesharks in the pristine waters of the Ningaloo Reef, located on Western Australia’s mid north coast. The area is home to whalesharks between April and July each year. You can also swim with manta rays, see rare turtles, migrating humpback whales, pods of dolphins and vibrant tropical fish.

The Mechanic Institute

With access via a rear laneway, Mechanics Institute sits atop 222 William St, our rooftop terrace looking back over the cultural precinct and the city skyline. Bar 399

This funky small bar is built for comfort & its high back private booths invite you to “stay awhile”. Courthouse Markets
